Vocational Rehabilitation Unit
Vocational rehabilitation has been a part of treatment at GMHC from the pre-independent period. Inmates whose symptoms are under control are involved in various kinds of training and manufacturing of products. The purpoe of involving them in such activities are to maintain their residual skilsl and to train them in a vocation so that it helps them in income generation after discharge from hospital. They are paid for their contribution . Exhibition and sale of the products manufactured by them are also organised periodically
Diet
All the inmates of the hospital are provided food 6 times a day in the hospital. The food is prepared in the kitchen within the campus under the supervision of the dietitian and 8 cooks. Special diet is given to diabetic patients and those with special dietary needs due to their medical condition. The daily diet is as follows
Laundry
Laundry facility is available for the patients. Some of the closed wards have washing machine within the wards and a power laundry facility is available for other wards.
